Born in Beaumont, Texas and based in Houston, Amanda Barry Jones is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice centers on ceramics, sculpture, and glaze chemistry. Her work explores the expressive possibilities of clay through layered surfaces, experimental glaze processes, and forms that reference the natural world.
Jones earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics from Lamar University and later received a full ride scholarship to Houston Christian University, formerly Houston Baptist University, where she completed her Master of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Sculpture and Ceramics.
She maintains an active studio practice and exhibition record across Texas. Her work has been featured in museums and galleries and she has completed multiple public sculptures. Jones has taught since 2014 and currently serves as Head of the Art Department and Art Gallery at Galveston College. Alongside her studio practice, she is deeply committed to arts education and to supporting the broader creative community through teaching, mentorship, and curatorial leadership.
