The Space Between explores the quiet thresholds where the natural and the imagined converge. Through ceramic wall forms and layered glazes, I create landscapes inhabited by animal presences and echoes of humanity that exist somewhere between earth and sky, memory and imagination, movement and stillness.

Each piece functions as a contained world, shaped through the interaction of intention and chance. Layered glazes flow, pool, and transform during firing, allowing heat, gravity, and chemistry to become active participants in the work. Rather than illustrating a specific place or narrative, these imagined environments emerge gradually through the material itself, revealing forms and relationships that could not have been fully planned.

The title The Space Between speaks to both the physical and conceptual spaces within the work: the shifting boundary between land and sky, presence and absence, the familiar and the unknown. I am interested in these moments of transition, where certainty softens and new possibilities begin to emerge. By leaving room for ambiguity, I invite viewers to slow down, look closely, and discover their own connections within each landscape.
